New Outlook Add-In Fights Spam (Repel for Outlook 1.0)
CS2Exchange Software For Immediate Release Contact: Paul Rony (919) 604-1258 New Outlook Add-In Fights Spam October 15 (Raleigh, NC)- CS2Exchange Software has released Repel for Outlook 1.0, a Microsoft Outlook(tm) add-in that provides effective spam filtering and begins working as soon as it is installed. Repel for Outlook activates whenever Outlook detects the arrival of a new email message. Repel examines the header information and compares the sender with an up-to-date public blacklist of known spammers. If there's a match, Repel for Outlook can mark the message as spam and move the message to the spam folder, move the message to the delete folder, or delete the message immediately. These options are easily set by the user. In addition to the public blacklist, Repel for Outlook features easy administration of both a private blacklist and a private whitelist. The private blacklist causes messages to be filtered in the same manner as the public blacklist, but works for servers not previously reported as a spam source. The private whitelist is used to override the public blacklist. In addition, all of the lists can be manually edited. Repel for Outlook provides a Statistics page which provides meaningful and useful statistics on its success in dealing with incoming emails. Repel for Outlook tracks the number of messages blocked by the blacklists and the number of messages allowed by the whitelists. With spam robbing Internet users of time, bandwidth and productivity, Repel for Outlook can ensure that email from repeat spammers will be automatically discarded. At the same time, Microsoft Outlook users can ensure speedy delivery of email from trusted and welcome sources. Repel for Outlook works with Microsoft Outlook 97/98/2000/XP. It also works with the Microsoft Exchange Inbox that ships with Windows 95, the Windows Messaging application that ships with NT4, and the Microsoft Exchange clients that ship with Microsoft Exchange Server. Outlook Express is not supported. Repel for Outlook sells for $20, runs under Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP, and may be purchased securely online from the CS2Exchange website at http://www.cs2exchange.com/. A free, fully-functional, 30-day trial version of Repel for Outlook may be downloaded from the same web site. Multi-user and site licenses are available.
